Practice Center

Practice Center

The range is now full grass and has new premium range balls. Come by to practice your game.

The Desert Pines Practice Center is Vegas’ only two-tiered, climate-controlled facility featuring an automatic ball delivery system so golfers don’t need to tee up each new practice ball. It is also an ideal practice range because golfers do not have to release their grip to strike another ball and therefore can isolate and work on various aspects of their swing. This state-of-the-art ball return system is card activated and the cards have no expiration date, so golfers can use as few or as many of their allotted balls as they wish and then return at another time to use the rest. The cards are also transferable and can be given to a friend who may be coming to Vegas. They are one of the Valley’s best range ball values and come in denominations of:

Cost of Range Balls (included with each paid round)
  • $3 – 35 Golf Balls
  • $5 – 50 Golf Balls
  • $10 -110 Golf Balls
  • $20 – 230 Golf Balls
  • $50 – 600 Golf Balls
  • $100 – 1300 Golf Balls

The 56 hitting stations are covered from the rain and direct sunlight. The Center is also climate-controlled. Misters are used in the summer to keep it cool and overhead heaters are used in the winter to keep it warm. The Center stays open until 10:30 p.m. in the winter and 11 p.m. in the summer and opens around sunrise with the course. It also features its own Snack Bar (see details under “Duffer’s section).

The target greens were fashioned after some of the most famous Par-3 holes in the country: TPC Sawgrass, Pinehurst No. 2, Harbor Town Golf Links, Pebble Beach and Plum Creek.

The Desert Pines Driving Range & Practice Center also runs one of Vegas’ favorite on-going range promotions, the “Orange Ball.” Orange colored practice balls are pre-loaded into the automatic delivery system and when a golfer has an orange ball pop up on their tee, they win a prize. The prize might be rounds of golf, discounts on lessons, free range balls or more.

There are also two teaching bays with instruction available from the Eagle Golf Academy.

The Golf Academy is headed by Mike Davis. Golf Magazine recognized Mike as one of the “Top 100 Teachers in America.“ In addition to taking instruction from one of the country’s top teachers, taking lessons in Vegas offers several other advantages. Unlike other Vegas adventures, what you learn here to improve your game doesn’t have to stay in Las Vegas. You can go home and surprise your buddies with your newfound prowess. For many visitors, there may not be time in their short Vegas vacation to get in a full 18 holes and a lesson from a PGA pro is an excellent investment for their game and a way to spend some time outside the casinos. Whether you win or lose at the tables, losing a few strokes off your game is a sure bet!

The Golf Academy is committed to providing the finest in golf instruction, using the latest in digital golf video and providing students with a DVD of their lesson to take home. All their Las Vegas golf instructors participate in extensive training throughout the year to ensure consistent quality. They provide a wide range of golf instruction options from low cost junior clinics to the finest in custom golf schools and even on-course playing lessons. Their goal is to exceed their students’ expectations.
