Charles was born in Mesa, Arizona and has been around golf his entire life. He joined the Walters Golf family 12 years ago as a Range Attendant at Desert Pines Golf Club. Charles left Desert Pines in early 2006 to pursue his dream of being a professional golfer. During his adventures he had the chance to play golf in England, Ireland, Europe, and Africa. Charles says, “This was an amazing opportunity to see the other side of the world and learn to play golf all over again.” He couldn’t stay away long and brought back his expertise to manage all tournaments and special events at Royal Links Golf Club.

Erik has been the Golf Course Superintendent at Desert Pines Golf Club since 2007 and was recently promoted to Director of Golf Operations in addition to his role as Golf Course Superintendent. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, he brings over 21 years of progressive experience to the operation including 15 years as a Golf Course Superintendent directing operations at 5 Star Resorts, Private Country Clubs as well as High End Daily Fee facilities. His agronomic experience enables him to provide the guests of Desert Pines with superior playing conditions on a daily basis. In 2012, he achieved the accreditation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent which further defines his commitment to the profession.
His dedication in providing the best playing conditions along with the highest level of customer service leaves little free time. His hobbies include golf, camping, fishing, fitness and motorcycles.
Chef Ed is the newest addition to the Desert Pines team and comes to us from the New York New York Hotel and Casino where his responsibilities included overseeing the Catering Department and America Restaurant. He brings over 30 years of experience to Desert Pines Golf Club. This experience includes positions at exclusive properties such as Pebble Beach, Private and Semi-Private Golf Clubs as well as Daily Fee facilities. Chef Sohn is a transplant from California and came to Las Vegas in 1995 to attend UNLV and has never left. He says, “Just fell in love with this town I guess.” His hobbies include playing golf and drag racing.
Jamie is one of the newest additions to the Desert Pines team and joins us as the Catering and Sales Manager. Jamie hails from Oskaloosa, Iowa and has recently relocated to Las Vegas for this new opportunity. Jamie has spent her entire professional career as a wedding and special events consultant and promises the highest level of detail and attention to all her clients to ensure their event is special in everyway.
In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with the good company of friends and family and watching her Iowa Hawkeye football team.
Ku’uipo came to Desert Pines Golf Club after she followed her family to Las Vegas from the island of Maui, Hawaii. Ku’uipo is the Retail Manager in the golf shop and prides herself in offering an assortment of men’s and women’s clothing, hats and many other accessories that can be taken home to remember your visit to Desert Pines Golf Club.
Her experience in the entertainment & hospitality industry helps her service you with a smile you won’t soon forget. In her spare time Ku’uipo enjoys playing sports and baking.
Mike Davis is recognized as one of the top instructors in the country, being chosen by GOLF Magazine for their prestigious Top 100 Instructor list and has been ranked the #2 instructor in Nevada since 2002 by Golf Digest. Mike has played on the PGA Tour in the mid-seventies. He has been chosen Instructor of the Year fifteen times by different PGA Chapters and Sections. Mike is also an expert in the field of video instruction, having won an award for his research from the World Scientific Congress of Golf. Mike has written articles for regional and national magazines for the past thirty years including the September 2005 issue of Golf Digest and numerous articles in GOLF Magazine. He is also the Director of Instruction for VegasGolfer Magazine and writes eight articles every year.
Ron Boslar has taught golf for over 34 years. He received a Masters in Education ten years ago, which has helped him greatly as a golf instructor. Ron has instructed in Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, California and, most recently, Hawaii. He has had much success in assisting golfers of all ability levels. His enthusiasm and passion for the game of golf makes learning from Ron very enjoyable.
